ARET 1200 MATERIALS AND APPLICATIONS

In the materials and applications class, our knowledge is broadened to what materials are sustainable and what materials produce a massive carbon emission on the environment. Having an understanding of material properties can significantly reduce factories producing harmful materials due to demand.

ARET 1300 BUILDING TECHNOLOGY

In the ARET 1300, Building Technology class we are exposed to how to incorporate sustainable systems into a residential property. This is incorporating solar panels on the roof to reduce the load on the electrical grids or how net-zero homes are designed and constructed to have no footprint on the environment.

ARET 1510 BUILDING LIGHTING DESIGN

In the lighting design class, we learn about light pollution in the environment. Research is done to understand how and why light emissions are so harmful to the environment. And ways that designers can implement plans to remove light emissions.

ARET 2400 SUSTAINABLE SIT PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

This class is all about planning for a building. What effects a building will do on surrounding ecosystems and the impact it will have on the environment. The idea is to understand ways to keep the environment as it is when placing the building on the site, and how to incorporate the environment into the building.

ARET 3300 BUILDING DESIGN

This course enters the world of commercial building design. The class looks at a multitude of systems that commercial buildings utilize to reduce the overall building footprint. Additionally, looks at LEED, Passive house standards that have now become vital to new construction ratings.
